Choosing a Private Number Plate Supplier
If a company is recommended or you have used them before and had a good experience then that would be the obvious choice. However for the fast majority of people buying private number plates, this is unchartered waters. This article covers a few things you may want to consider when buying private number plates.
There are advantages in buying a cherished number from a company that is a member of one of the industries trade associations. M.I.R.A.D or Members of the Institute of Registration Agents and Dealers is one such association another is the Cherished Number Dealers Associated, C.N.D.A. The C.N.D.A. is affiliated to the Retail Motor Industry Federation and has a conciliation service to resolve disputes between it's members and customers.
Private number plates often are subject to VAT and a department of transport fee. Some companies also have other fees if you buy from them. These may include such things as administration fees, premiums for using a credit card or postage costs.
Companies that are registered with the Driver and Vehicle licensing Agency, D.V.L.A. as a number plate supplier can also supply the physical number plates for your vehicle. There is an array of Government legislation around the display of a vehicle registration number. Any company or website offering to mis space or mis represent private number plates should definitely be avoided.
Some dealers offer online discounts to encourage customers to purchase online sand therefore save on manpower and time in forfilling orders for private number plates.
