Gluten free in Calgary? Also, where to go/avoid?
I will be in Calgary for the holidays.
1.) Can anyone suggest some restaurants and/or stores that cater to Celiacs and those with food allergies?
2.) What clubs/museums/attractions should I check out, and what areas/places should I avoid?
Thanks so much!
XOXO
1. Some restaurants are very aware of the Celiac diet, what can be eaten and not.
Chili's Restaurant posts on their website all Wheat and Gluten Allergen information and updates it every 6 months.
My advice to you is surf the internet before you go. Look up some great restaurants, you may be surprised at how many restaurants post their information for everyone to see. Many waiters and waitresses will also know if dishes are Celiac friendly or not.
2. Clubs / museums / attractions - depends on your age and who you are travelling with, but here are a list of generic things to do:
* COP, skiing, snowboarding, Bobsleigh, or visit the Olympic museum
* go to Banff National Park - only a few hours away and well worth the drive
* Glenbow museum
Avoid: casinos - they are everywhere, don't waist you time!
enjoy your stay in Calgary
